ÜLKA Carbide Corn Nail Drill Bit 5 × 13 mm (Red, Fine / Soft Cut) C513-F

The ÜLKA professional corn-shaped tungsten carbide nail drill bit (5.0 mm diameter, 13.0 mm head length) with a red indicator band is a high-precision, premium tool engineered from ultra-dense tungsten carbide (HRA 95%). Featuring a fine (soft) cross-cut fluting pattern, it operates with exceptional gentleness, ensuring smooth material removal without any skipping, skipping, vibration, or painful heat buildup.

Primary Uses and Application:

  • Gentle and safe removal of thin enhancement layers (gel polish, shellac, base coats).

  • Fine refining and smoothing of molded nail extensions (gel, acrylgel, polygel) prior to final hand-filing.

  • Precise thinning and clearing out of natural nail outgrowth from underneath the artificial free edge.

  • Delicate correction of product liftings near the cuticle area and lateral walls without touching the nail plate.

  • An excellent choice for beginners and students due to the significantly reduced risk of damage.

Technical Specifications:

Proper Maintenance, Cleaning, and Sterilization:

Tungsten carbide bits possess premium wear resistance, but require a dedicated sanitation process to preserve the sharp edge of their fine blades:

  1. Disinfection:

Immediately after use, submerge the drill bit into a professional disinfectant solution. Use only top-tier concentrates formulated with corrosion inhibitors specifically designed for metal rotary tools.

  2. Ultrasonic Cleaning:

To thoroughly flush out fine product debris trapped within the cross-cut flutes, utilize the ÜLKA Pulse ultrasonic cleaner. Afterward, ensure that the bits are completely dry. To accelerate drying, use the 80°C drying cycle for 30 minutes in the Jupiter 10V dry heat sterilizer.

  3. Thermal Sterilization:

Place completely dry bits into self-sealing sterilization pouches (kraft bags) and sterilize them inside the professional ÜLKA Mercury 2V or Jupiter 10V dry heat sterilizers at a temperature of 160–180°C.

Important Guidelines:

  • Store nail drill bits exclusively in dry bur stands or storage blocks that shield them from ambient moisture, dust, and accidental contamination.

  • Do not drop or bump carbide drill bits against hard surfaces. Despite its hardness, tungsten carbide is brittle. Dropping it can chip the fine blades, bend the shank, or throw off its balance, causing severe wobbling that will damage micromotor handpiece bearings.
