ÜLKA Carbide Needle Nail Drill Bit 2.3 × 14 mm (Blue, Medium Cut) C2314-M

The ÜLKA professional needle-shaped tungsten carbide nail drill bit (2.3 mm diameter, 14.0 mm head length) with a blue indicator band is a high-precision premium tool engineered fro m ultra-dense tungsten carbide (HRA 95%). Featuring a medium cross-cut fluting pattern, it balances operational speed with gentle treatment of the nail plate. Its ultra-slim profile and safe, rounded tip allow for highly controlled, delicate work in hard-to-reach areas without the risk of cutting the skin or over-filing.

Primary Uses and Application:

  • Safe and highly precise thinning out of product liftings (gel, acrylic, polygel) near the cuticle area and lateral walls.

  • Cleaning the nail plate by clearing away flooded base coats or cured product run-offs.

  • Delicate thinning and cleaning of natural nail outgrowth from underneath artificial extensions.

  • Under-nail refinement and reshaping the inner arch of the free edge.

  • Efficient opening and detailing of the lateral sinuses during dry apparatus manicures.

  • An excellent tool for novice technicians due to the smooth, rounded safety tip that prevents mechanical trauma.

Proper Maintenance, Cleaning, and Sterilization:

The slim geometry of the working head requires delicate handling and a strict three-step sanitation process:

  1. Disinfection:

Immediately after use, submerge the drill bit into a professional disinfectant solution. Use only premium concentrates with corrosion inhibitors designed for rotary metal instruments.

  2. Ultrasonic Cleaning:

To clear away trapped dust from the narrow cross-cut teeth, use the ÜLKA Pulse ultrasonic cleaner. Afterward, the bits must be dried completely. To accelerate drying, run the 80°C drying cycle for 30 minutes inside the Jupiter 10V dry heat sterilizer.

  3. Thermal Sterilization:

Place fully dried bits into kraft sterilization pouches and sterilize them inside the professional ÜLKA Mercury 2V or Jupiter 10V dry heat sterilizers at 160–180°C.

Important Guidelines:

  • Store nail drill bits strictly in dry bur stands or storage organizer blocks to protect them from ambient moisture, dust, and contamination.

  • Avoid dropping or knocking the drill bit. Due to its narrow 2.3 mm diameter and elongated body, dropping it can easily bend the shank or displace its center of rotation. This causes severe wobbling in the handpiece and will permanently damage the micro-motor bearings.
