Proper Maintenance, Cleaning, and Sterilization:

To maintain the cutting performance of the diamond coating and extend the lifespan of the bit, follow a strict three-step hygiene protocol:

1. Disinfection:

   Submerge the bit into a container filled with a disinfectant solution according to the manufacturer's guidelines. Use only professional, anti-corrosive concentrates designed for metal tools.

2. Ultrasonic Cleaning:

   To clear out trapped organic material and fine dust, utilize the ÜLKA Pulse ultrasonic cleaner. It efficiently washes micro-cracks in the diamond grit. Afterward, dry the bits thoroughly (e.g., using the 80°C drying cycle for 30 minutes in the Jupiter 10V dry heat sterilizer).

3. Thermal Sterilization:

   Place fully dried drill bits into self-sealing sterilization pouches (kraft bags) and process them inside the professional ÜLKA Mercury 2V or Jupiter 10V dry heat sterilizers at a temperature of 160–180°C.

Important Guidelines:

• Store nail drill bits in a dry place, preferably in dedicated bur blocks/holders that shield them from moisture and ambient dust.

• Avoid dropping or knocking the drill bits against hard surfaces. Doing so can bend the shank, causing rotational misalignment and damaging your micromotor handpiece.
